Profitable. Her lamp does not go out at nigh
Proverb 31 : 18
Here s a book that is timeless. In every age of man it has provided light and leading for those who were willing to walk in the high way of obedience to God. It suffices for our own peculiar generation. None of our scientific discoveries have made God's word obsolete, and our social advancement and political freedom have been derived from its teachings. If the world runs on for another thousand years, the Bible will still be up to date in the thirtieth century, as it is in the twentieth. When God gives His complete and full revelation to men, it is not subject to the revision which human document require to be kept reasonably current. The wonderful Word is modern in every sense and in every decade. The present is no exception to this general rule. Take the word of God away from our "modern" age, and humaity will be back in savagery and ignorance within three generation.
Even the Cambridge Ancient History" acknowledges that the Bible
Is the first book in civilization to have a world view of history; and no
One can deny that all world histories, from the second century to
The beginning of the nineteeth century, begin with retelling of the
Narratives of Genesis. No otherbook is so called for, so widely
Distributed, so intently studied, so extendively translated as a Bible.
