"Speak it to the Lord in Prayer"

" who has known the mind of the Lord?
                                            ROMANS 11: 34

What an amazing creation of God is the human mind! However, most attention these days is given to computers. How much information can the computer store? How fast can it operate? We often tend to forget that each of us has mind which puts even the most powerful computers to shame. It has been said we use only a small portion of our brains. Even at that our minds are capable of some astounding things. Consider the speed of the brain in eye-hand coordination. The eye sees a ball speeding our way and in an instant sends a message to the brain which inturn send a message to the hand to reach up to catch it. We think a home computer is more than adequate if it has a memory capavity of 128k, of the human brain. It has been said that everything we have ever known or experience is in our minds somewhere. Consider the human mind's ability to reason and to make decisions. Show me a computer which can do these things as wells, or do them at all for that matter. Even though more is being learned about the human mind all the time, we still don't understand its many-faceted complexities, intricacies and abilities.
How then can we expect to understand the mind of the Lord? How can we ever hope to investigate the mind of Him who knows absolutely everything? How can we whose minds are corrupted by sin expect to comprehend the mind of the holy and righteous God? Isn't that completely presumptuous? Yes, for man by nature it is.
"But we have the mind of Christ, " Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2:16. That means that by God's Word the Spirit reveals the mind of the Lord to us. As believers we know that God thinks thoughts of love and kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. We learn that because of Christ's death on the cross there is no longer in Go's mind any wrath or hatred toward us. We understand that God has only our best interest in mind, that he wants only what is best for us in our lives now, and that he wants us with him in heaven forever. In God's word we come to know the mind of the Lord in another sense. We understand the way God wants us to think and speak and live.
"Who has known the mind of the Lord? No computer ever built will be able to know God's mind. The greatest minds if men have never nor will they ever discover the mind of the Lord by their own powers. Only believers know the mind of God because he has revealed it to them in his Word.
