A Profile of Character

For the Lord is righteous, and he loved justice. Those who to what is right will see his face.
PSALM 11:7

JESUS WAS NO WEAK-KNEE sissy with lace on his handkerchief. Remember that he grew up working in s carpenter's shop. His hands were strong, his biceps, well-developed. He was an outdoors type of person. No "mamma's boy" would pick up a cudgel (provably a whip used to drive livestock) and run the money changers out of the temple. Jesus was manly, yet He was totally at ease with women who were consider inferiors in the day. As a man of quality, Jesus was never intimidated or threatened by women of quality.
He spoke the plain unvarnished truth. Never did He play the grandstand or hold a moist finger to the wind of public opinion, as politicians the world over are apt to do before they take a position in a moral issue.
It is interesting to note that the enemies of Jesus were the ones who bore the strongest and the most exp!icit testimony to His Character. The Pharisees constantly sought to discredit Jesus. "They sent. Their disciple to him along with the Herodians,," says Matthew. "Teacher,'  they said, 'we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way God in accord with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you osy no attention to who they are'" (Matthew 22:16).
When the North Koreans captured General William Dean, he was permitted to write one letter home. He wrote to his son to whom he said, "Bill, remember that integrity is the most important thing of all. Let it always be your life. The strive to let His characters be deflected by your life. The world will see the difference.
