Psalm 37:23 NKJV
In his book for children, The Chance World,
Henry Drummond describe a place in which nothing
Is predictable. The sun may rise, or it my not. The sun
Might suddenly appear at any hour, or the moon might
Rise instead of the sun. When children are born in the
Drummond 's fantasy world, they might have one head
Or a dozen heads, and their head or heads may not be
Positioned between their shoulders.
If one jumps into the air in the "chance world," it is
Impossible to predict whether the person will ever come
Down again. That he came down yesterday is no way to
Guarantee he will come down the next time. Gravity and
All the other natural laws change from hour to hour.
Today, a child's body might be so light it is impossible
For her to descend from a chair to the floor. Tomorrow, the
child might descend with such force, she falls through all
Three levels of a three-story house and lands near the
Center of the earth.
In the final analysis, The Chance World is a frigthening
World. While most people enjoy a certain amount of own
Spontaneity in their lives, they enjoy life more when it is
Lives against a backdrop of predictability, surety, and to be
Trustworthiness.
The scriptures promise us that the Lord changes not.
He is the same same yesterday, Today and Forever. (See
Hebrews13:8.) Futhermore, His natural Laws do not change
Unless He authorizes their change for the good of His people.
His commandments do not change. His promises to us are
Sure promises. We can know with certainty, the steps of a
Good man ordered by the Lord."
The Lord may have some surprise for you today they are
A part of His ongoing creation in your life. But His surprises
Are always custom-designed for you on the rock-solid
Foundation of His Love. It is always His desire that you can
Experience the highest and the best in your life. That you
Can count on Him!
