NO ACTOR OR ACTRESS can successfully play the part of another individual without finding out who that person really is and trying to think as the other thought. When Mel Gibson asked Jim Caviezel to play the role of Jesus in The Passion of Christ, Jim, a Roman Catholic thought he already knew Jesus.
Yet playing the role of Jesus changed his life, No, it wasn't because he had to learn Aramaic it had to endure hardships while playing the part. It was because he gained a deeper understanding of Jesus and why He had to die.
That kind of understanding was exactly what Paul said every child of God should have. Paul wrote, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5 NKJV )
Getting inside the mind of Christ will affect your perspective, Jesus saw the end from the beginning, He knew God had the power to raise Him up from death. He said confidently, "No one takes it [my life] from me, but I lay it down of my own accord I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again" (John 10:18).
Getting inside His mind will change your attitudes. Focus on just one area at a time. Did Jesus worry about what was on the horizon? No, he laid aside uh the obstacles and walked resolutely toward Jerusalem.
Getting inside His mind will change your values. Your time and money will be spent differently. Relationships will take on new importance. What you invest for God and eternity will become urgent priorities.
When you get inside the mind of Christ, and begin to think as Jesus did, you will be a different person. Seek the mind of Christ. It will change your life. Today!
