"The Right Mix"

"For as the body without the spirit is dead,
so faith without works is dead also."
                                      James 2: 26

A teaspoon of that, a cup of this. A proven recipe helps you prepare delicious food. Yet if you add more  of ingredient and less of another, the dish could be ruined. The right mix is needed to prepare the best dishes.
The right recipe is also needed in the christian life. In James 2, we are encouraged to exhibit good works along with our faith. When we stir these two together, says in the book of James we live out a balanced christian life.
The same is true of the balance of doctrine and love, legalism prevails rules, conformity and judgement are wrongly emphasized. When love overtakes sound doctrine, humanism results  people's thoughts, feeling or opinion wrong take precedence. Neither is pleasing to God.
Striking the right mix of faith and works, love and doctrine is. Challenge. Do you help others and yet neglect your spiritual life? Or, are you so enamored with the doctrine that you're for gotten to love your neighbor? With God's guidance, you cam keep a proper mix of faith and works, love and doctrine, a d live Christia. Life that's vital and dynamic.
