The verse for today is superb for teaching the power and sufficiency of God's grace. Second Corinthians 12:2-4 seems to mean that Paul himself was taken up to Paradise, whether he heard innexpressible things. Paul was given a thorn in the flesh, some physical weakness or disease, to keep him from being conceited. His thrice-offered prayer that this thorn be removed was not granted, but he was promised, "My grace is sufficient for thee, for my stremgth is made perfect in weakness." In order to see how God's grace furnished power for Paul's life, read 2 Corinthians 11:22-29. Paul life was a mighty witness to the energizing and sustaining power of God's grace.
We need this power in our lives today, and it is available to us. We need this power to mobilize, energize, and sustain us in the service of Christian living. This power is neede to make our lives better examples of Christ. We need the power to face the many disappointments,frustrationns, and heartaches in life. This power will make us overcomes.
The secret for having this power is to get rid of pride in our own ability and rely solely upon God. May this power be ours.
PRAYER THOUGHTS: Dear God help us to do our best,but to put our counfidence in Your ability rather than our own. Give us the grace to be completely reliant upon You. Make us effective Christian's. In JESUS' name Amen.
