HYMN FOR TODAY: " Higher Ground"
This Scripture challanges us to higher and loftier dimension in the Christian life. We are to be moved from mere profession to genuine Christian commitment. We are further challenged to experience some of the deeper truths of Christianity and to share in its vast riches. God has provided the means to achieve these worthy goals.
He will strengthen us with power through His Spirit. Our lives are to be energized and motivated. He wants us to move from inertia to active Christian involvement. His Spirit dwelling in us will bring this about if we submissive to the divine will.
Christ is to dwell in our hearts through faith. Christ dwelling in us is at the center of our being, so that He exerts His influence upon our thoughts, word, and actions. When Christ is in control of our lives, they will be lived as He directs our lived will be to His glory.
We are established in love, our lives show stability, steadfastness, and perseverance. Love for God and our fellowman will move us to consistent Christian living and service.
PRAYER THOUGHTS: Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times when we have failed and disappointed You. Help us to be submissive to Your will for our lives. May our goal always be to bring glory and honor to Your name. In JESUS' name, Amen.
