"FOR A WHILE"

"I consider that our present suffering are not
worth comparing with the glory that will be
revealed in us.
                                                   Romans 8:18

Suffering is a fact  of life. It strike young and
old, rich and poor. It's root cause is sin. We all
suffer from sickness and disease because we
live in a sinful world. Who could describe all
the forms of physical, mental and spiritual
suffering as they exists in our world today?
Thank God that in his suffering Servant he
given us an answer to suffering. Our substitute
suffered it all. He suffered trial, temptation,
poverty, pain, sorrow, rejection and death. He
was indeed a man who was familiar with
suffering. Jesus suffered so that we would not
have to suffer the eternal torment of hell.
That accomplished fact directly affect our
view, as God's people, on suffering. By faith
in Christ we know that God is our living
Father. In our Father's hand suffering is a tool
by which he would draw us closer to himself,
train us or give us an opportunity to witness to
his undeserved love.
Many of us have experienced passing through
a period of suffering. We learned from that
experience that man!s life truly does not consist
in the amount of things he possesses. God's
Promises became even more valuable, and in
that way he drew us closer to himself.
We all experience the suffering which our
Father sends into our lives as discipline.
Scripture says, "God disciplines us for our
good, that we may share in His Holiness. No
discipline seems pleasant at the time, but
painful. Later on, however, it produced a
harvest of righteousness and peace for those
who have been trained by it."
Sometimes God permits suffering to come
Upon us so that by faithful patience and
endurance we might witness to others.
Seldom do we think of suffering as
opportunity, but often that's what it is.
In the middle of suffering we can at times
lose perspective. Our word about life for
today puts all suffering into perspective.
When all is said and done, it isn't worth
Comparing with the heavenly glory and
joy that awaits us. Because it is done, it is
finished! Glory to God!
