"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of
the apostle, Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
Acts 2:37
Paul admonished Timothy to preach the word.
The Word has power to convict of sin. Read
Acts 2:37 Men's word fall as so many burnt
embers on the hearts of men. They do not bring
convictions. But something almost mystical is
seem about God's Word. For when it is given,
men are convicted of sin. God say in
Romans3:23: "For all haver sinned, and come
short of the glory of God." In Roman 6:23 He
says; "For the wages of sin is death." These
words prick the heart of men. We're to say it is
in my own words, or as something coming
from me, men would not be convicted.
Power of Regeneration
The Word has power to regenerate the soul.
The word is the seed; sown in the heart, it
produces life, "Being born again, not of
corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the
word of God, which live the and abideth
forever" 1Peter 1:23 "Of his own will begat
he us with the word Of truth, that we should
be kind of firstfruits of his creation (Jas.1:18).
Therefore, in dealing with soul, I give him
the Word, or sow it in the heart. As the heart
closes around the word by faith, God the
spirit quickens it and gives the fruit. Man's
part is simple. He merely needs to sow the
Word in the power of the Holy Spirit, but
God's part is the mystery. "I have planted,
Apollos watered; but God gave the increase"
(1Cor.3:6). Therefore, when I quote John 1:12
to a soul and he, by simple faith, accept it ,
God grants him the power to become a son
of God. "But as many as received him, to
them gave he power to become the Sons of
God."
Jesus said to the woman at well that she
Should drink the water that He would give
her,? And it would spring up a well into
everlasting life. "But whosoever drinketh
of the water that I shall give him shall never
thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall
be in him a well of water springing up into
everlasting life" (John 4;14).! Thus the Word,
given to a soul to a gives to a soul, when
Receive by faith produces the miracle of
regeneration.
All of this is by the power of the Holy Spirit,
who uses the Word. "Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the
washing of regeneration, and renewing of the
Holy Ghost" (Tit.3:5).
