SUFFERING FOR DOING GOOD

SCRIPTURE: 2 Peter 2:18-25
VERSE FOR TODAY: But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God (1 Peter2:20, New International Version).
HYMN FOR TODAY: "Have Thine Own Way, Lord"

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone loves us and treated us right? We realize that isn't going to happen in this world.
Two farmers lives side by side. One day the cows belonging to one of them got out and ruined about half an acre of the neighbor's corn. In anger the man corralled his neighbor's cattle and locked them in his own barn. After making the first farmer pay for everything they had destroyed, he held the animal hostage until ransom was paid. Later in the year, some hogs belonging to the second farmer escaped and invaded the potato patch of the man who owned the cows. The pigs caused great damaged. Although the man was disturbed by the loss of his crop, he carefully began herding them back to their own pen. The neighbor came out of the place where he had been hiding and said in surprise, "How can you be so kind?" The man replied, Because I'm a Christian!"
The world watches us as Christian. Obey want to see how we act when things aren't going well. An encouragement to us as Christians is that Jesus suffered, and He gives us the power and desire to do what is right whether anyone else does or not.

PRYAYER THOUGHTS:; Heavenly Father, I praise You for who You are. Thank You for loving me. I want to honor and serve You always. In Jesus' name, Amen.
